While season 2024 did not deliver all the snowy joy, it did deliver on some excellent celebrations for the Lodge and some racing success, combined with the great camaraderie of the Mt Buller lodge experience.

The Lodge and Club celebrated its 60th anniversary this year.

The foresight of the Wesley alumni pioneers who founded, designed and built the club in 1964 has created a vibrant and inclusive environment that today services many Wesley affiliated OWs, staff and families. We are indebted to their vision and passion for alpine sports.60th cert

Members of the current committee joined the Alpine Resort Board in celebrating a number of mountain ski club anniversaries in August. Vaughan Rosier hand-picked a dream team to compete in the Club Team Challenge races in late August and the combined team of Julian Peters (OW2014), Cameron Peters (OW2017) and Lachlan Ferguson delivered the goods, winning the ’Shaggy Cup’ for the fastest cross-discipline team.

While the season finished early due to a warmer than usual August, the Lodge was still able to host a number of families for the Wesley Cup and Interschools, supporting school skiing. Well done to all the Wesley students who competed in 2024.

About the Club

Collegians Ski Club at Mt Buller is situated in a spectacular position on Breathtaker Spur, with magnificent views across surrounding slopes and valleys from either the comfortable lounge areas or the wide balcony.

From the family style lodge, you can ski directly onto Standard and Wood Run, and it is a short walk or shuttle ride to the Ski School and Bourke Street, the chairlifts to the Summit, and to adjacent slopes.

Construction of the architect-designed lodge began in 1964 by Club Members and friends. Over intervening years, it has been continually updated and modernised, so that it retains its early Mt Buller heritage charm, yet provides every modern comfort and facility required by today's snow sport enthusiasts.

The lodge features eight bunk rooms, three with ensuites, the remaining with dedicated bathrooms, and a spacious entertaining area which includes a lounge with an open fire, bar, two TV rooms, dining area and a fully equipped communal kitchen. The lodged is serviced by Starlink for excellent communications and streaming. Wifi is available throughout the lodge.

The passageways and bunkrooms are carpeted throughout and all rooms are centrally heated for comfort and enjoyment, with a spacious drying room available for everyone's use. The basement has space for storage of Club supplies, lockable ski racks, snowboard racks and individual lockers for members' food, clothing and equipment.
