BA (Hons) MBA GradDipEd MAICD

Marianne Stillwell is the Chair of the Foundation and was President of Wesley College from 2014 to 2022 and on the Wesley College Council from 2006 to 2022.  In her professional career, Marianne spent 12 years in finance management roles with Ford Credit Australia Limited, and has 10 years of secondary teaching experience in government, Catholic and independent schools. In 2024, Marianne and her family sold their company specialising in prestige motor vehicle retail and she is now Chair of Ross House Investments, the family investment entity. Marianne is currently chair of Independent Schools Victoria (ISV) and a director of Independent Schools Australia, and deputy chair of Aitken College.  Marianne’s daughter graduated from Wesley in 2021, and her two sons completed their education at Wesley in 2017 and 2014.

Marianne believe in the transformative power of education for young people and increasing access to a Wesley education and providing leading built spaces for teaching and learning. Wesley has a long history of philanthropic support to make possible our founders’ educational vision and values.

Bsc (Hons) MSc PhD FAA

Professor Rachel Webster AO has taught Astrophysics, Astronomy and Physics for more than 20 years and is a member of faculty at the University of Melbourne. Professor Webster is a well-respected member of her field, the author of more than 200 academic publications and a regular presenter at international conferences. Professor Webster currently leads an astrophysics research group at the University of Melbourne, consisting of more than 60 research students and staff.

Professor Webster has also been awarded a place on the Victorian Women’s Honour Roll, is a board member of Astronomy Australia Limited and an honorary fellow of the Astronomical Society of Australia.

Mark Aarons (OW 1993) joined the Wesley College Investment Advisory Committee in 2025 and currently has three children at Wesley College.

Mark is Head of Asset Classes at Victorian Funds Management Corporation (VFMC) which manages circa $100 billion of assets for the Victorian Government.   In this role, Mark is responsible for leading the six asset class teams (Equities, Fixed Income, Hedge Funds, Infrastructure, Private Credit and Property) within the broader Investments Team.  Prior to joining VFMC in 2018, Mark was global Head of Derivative Structuring at the National Australia Bank from 2010 to 2017, where he built a leading institutional structuring and sales business in Australia and the UK.  Mark also spent four years in London with NAB Markets.

Mark holds Bachelor degrees in Law and Science (both with Honours) from Monash University and a PhD in Mathematics jointly from the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics and the Free University of Berlin, Germany.  Mark has co-authored a book and several papers on finance.

Cameron Bacon, BEc, CA, F Fin

Cameron has been a Financial Advisory (Mergers and Acquisitions) Partner at Grant Thornton since late 2010 and is currently the National Head of the Corporate Finance and Agribusiness teams.  Cameron previously worked at KPMG in the Melbourne and Chicago offices.  He is a former Wesley student (OW ’87) and a past parent (OW ’25) .  Cameron previously served on both the College Council and Finance Committee.  He is currently Vice President of the Foundation and also serves on the Foundation Investment Committee

BA(Hons), Dip Ed, MEd, MACE (OW1985)

Nicholas Evans is Wesley’s 17th Principal. Nick has a long association with Wesley College both as a student and in teaching and leadership roles spanning 20 years. Following five years as Deputy Headmaster and Head of Senior School at Melbourne Grammar School, Nick returned to Wesley as an accomplished leader.  He has experience in contemporary curriculum development, in the implementation of academic and cocurricular programs to complement a holistic education and in building connected relationships with staff, students and community. Nick also brings to Wesley extensive experience in coeducational and residential schooling, teacher appraisal and the development of programs to support teaching excellence.

Peter Mastos (OW1990) joined the Wesley College Council in 2020. Peter is a senior business leader with more than 25 years of experience in management consulting, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate transformations. He is a Founding Partner at Sayers (founded in 2020), a modern advisory and investment business designed for the new economy, backed by Australian and US private capital. Prior to joining Sayers, Peter was a Senior Partner at PwC Australia, and was a member of PwC’s Global Deals Leadership team. Peter has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia since 1996, and completed the INSEAD Executive Leadership Program in 2010. He is also a current member of the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute Development Board.

Dr Hugo Stephenson (OW1991)

Hugo is a medical doctor, biotech services entrepreneur and founder of MediGuard, Health Research Solutions and MedSeed. Hugo is best known for his work promoting drug safety research and consumer health awareness.

Hugo founded Health Research Solutions in 1999, a biotechnology services company that used the internet to manage the communication and data capture required for late-phase clinical trials.

Hugo has been a guest medical expert on Good Morning Philadelphia in the USA, and was voted one of the "100 most inspiring people" by PharmaVoice Magazine in 2010.
