Strong and steady: Caring for our Junior School students in Term 4
Term 4 is the final stretch of a long and rewarding year for our Junior School children. They have grown enormously, academically, socially and emotionally. At this time of year, many are tired and it can show in their concentration, patience and friendships.
Calm, predictable classroom routines help children feel settled, even when the calendar fills with events. When things don't go quite right, our teachers help children learn from it and remind them that tomorrow is a fresh start.
We also put the focus on effort and growth rather than perfection. A simple question like 'What are you proud of today?' helps children see how far they have come and builds the confidence they carry into the next year.
At Wesley, families are our partner in this. We encourage parents to let us know if they notice something changing in their child; when we share what we are seeing and work together, the support for your child is at its strongest.
Through our 'Ready to ROAR' approach of Respect, Opportunity, Achievement and Resilience, the message to every child is simple: we believe in you, and we are alongside you every step of the way.
