Several groups of Year 5 and 6 students entered the competition, with our 'Purple and Gold' team winning a Commended Award for their book 'The Caravan Kids'.
The group had just 9.5 hours to write an entire book, using a range of challenging writing prompts – and they even made a stop motion animation to bring their story to life.
The judges described ‘The Caravan Kids’ as ‘inventive’ and a book that would appeal to young readers with its ‘sweet layer of nostalgia’.
‘The Caravan Kids’ is now part of The Kids’ Cancer Project’s online library, available to children in hospitals across Australia.
